Came in kind of late and really hungry and had a great experience!! We sat at the bar and got excellent service. For a basic burger etc place it was delicious!! The salmon pasta was so good I didn't want to share!! The decorations are pretty entertaining too!! We'll be back!!

Awesome place, TVs and 2 projectors to watch the games. The mussels and burgers are all amazing, I will definitely come here often.

Appetizers came out cold. Main entree was lukewarm at best. Servers are friendly but poorly trained. Food was bland. Didnt bother with dessert. Very disappointing. Mediocre at best. Don't waste your time. City Tavern and Royal Pig are much better choices in Las Olas

Excellent burger and very good skirt steak; great choice of beers, Pleasant atmosphere. I recommend this brand new place.

Listen to the reviews stating that the service is poor and food was terrible. They are correct. We came to the Grill Republic during the Los Olas arts Festival. You think that they would be staffed for such a busy event. You would be wrong. We wanted to sit outside but were told we couldn't because it was not enough servers to accommodate the people. "Okay" we said and we were willing to sit inside. We were seated quickly but 15 minutes later we were wondering where the heck out server was. Nowhere to be found. We had to grab her own waitress and asked to put in our order. We put all our food order at once, including appetizer and our main course. Appetizer took extremely long for a simple calamari dish. My girlfriend had a burger and I had a mahi sandwich. They put all their sandwiches on some sort of pretzel bun. This makes everything taste like pretzel and not what you want your sandwich to taste like. I had a side salad and their normal vinaigrette dressing taste like terrible lemon sauce. They didn't have anything else including ranch dressing, or at least didn't offer it. Not the most expensive place on my Las Olas but for the location and the overall cost not worth it. Only reason we went there was because it was close to where we parked and didn't feel like walking further to a better restaurant and thought we would give a try. We will not make this mistake again.

Trying too hard is the perfect way to describe it. Mussels were overcooked and covered in breadcrumbs which soaked up any wine sauce so not only were they overcooked but they were dry...yuck!

Horrible service. Found a hair in my food and the waitress acted like it was normal saying "it happens". Food took almost an hour to get here and by the time it did it was ice cold.

Decided to try a new restaurant when I stumbled across grill republic. They greeted me at the door and treated me with such hospitality. Went there on a Sunday and there unlimited mimosas for brunch really hit the spot. Decided to order the good morning burger and I'm really glad I did it was amazing couldn't have asked for anything better. The wait time was not bad at all and their friendly staff really did a good job of making sure we were taken care of. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Slow service, Premixed Minosas that were weak, ordered banana chocolate pancakes and got pancakes without bananas? Took forever to get refills on Sunday Brunch Mimosas, the server bobby was friendly but I don't think I'll be back. Side note: the cows on the ceiling were cool

My boyfriend and I stumbled across Grill Republic yesterday, and decided to stop for lunch. I must that Lance was one of the best waiters we have ever encounter. He is the main reason we give the place for and a have star. Especially when our four took over 45 minutes. the flavor, and presentation of the food was wonderful, however it should not take that long to cook, a burger rare and filet rare. However, I will say this Lance timing of service, and conversation during the wait, was fantastic, and keep us calm and allowed us till still enjoy our dinner. Until the end when the manager, stop by, a little french female, and when we explain to her about our experience, she was basic non caring or concern, however she was focus on taking to one of her female workers in french, well she tried to speak to us at our table. Maybe you should learn manners, especially if you are in a people based business, So once again thank you lance for your service and for the great food recommendations. Sorry I did start with four star however after the rudeness of the manager and her lacks of manners for customers in her establishment drop it to a three after i thought about it during this writing. I will return , not t sure if my b0yfield, however I will cal, to make sure that manager is not working!!!!!

Best steaks in the area and their burgers blow the competition out of the water. They have 14 dollar ribs and beer on Monday. Good music, food and service. I was very pleased

Food was alright but service was very very slow. We had to wait a lot after being seated and had to get up and ask for our drinks. The waitress that took our order forgot about us and served a couple who just arrived before serving us. When the time came to pay they had applied 18% service charge automatically. Isn't the service charge supposed to be given voluntarily and aligned to the quality of service received?

The service was horrendously slow and took forever. Despite that there were one of the two tables sitting indoors. It took about 10 minutes for my boyfriend to get his drink from the bar. They brought out the warm break (yummy) but only one piece of butter for a table of 4 People? The server was semi helpful with recommendations but overall the food sucked. The "jerk" wings were mild and completely lacked flavor. The lamb was fine. Just fine. The steak was a little overdone and the chimmichurri was lackluster. My boyfriend was completely disappointed by his $20 burger (the double, add bacon). The only Saving grace was that my gnocchi bolognese was excellent. That's the only reason they got more than one star.

Went to Grill Republic last night to kill some time before a meeting. The place was empty so I figured service/food would be quick. It took about 20 minutes for the server to take our drink order and deliver it. Good thing I had quite a bit of time to kill. We ordered the Black Bean Burger and the Salmon Burger, one with fries and the other with a salad. The Black Bean Burger was horrible. I could barely get through half of it, and the fries were extremely salty. The Salmon Burger tasted like it was dunked on a tub of lemon before placed on the plate, again we barely got through half of it. After receiving our meals, the server never checked back to see how we were doing. When we stopped eating, he came to pick up our plates and never said a word. Now... If you're clearing a table and notice both meals are pretty much untouched, you'd ask one of two things... One, if we'd like to take it to-go and two, if everything was ok...? Neither question was asked. We paid the bill and left. I didn't even have the intentions to leave this review.... Until today. The food made us sick. We woke up rushing to the restroom and with severe nausea. To be kind, I'd say to stay away from those dishes but I know that I will definitely not order anything from Grill Republic again. Thanks for ruining my weekend!

We stopped at Grill Republic randomly walking by with the family. We settled on this place because of the "carnivor" options. Glad we did! Great service, amazingly delicious french fries and loved sitting outside people watching. Order the skirt steak and side of Brussel sprouts with bacon. So Ooooo yummy! We definitely will be back here. Nice atmosphere, great food.

To start we had the following: Sour stale wine (that we sent back and they replaced with the same). Slimey smelly mussels. Uncooked cheesey tacos. Must I say more? We were off to a bad start and closed our tab. We were compensated for the first round of bad wine that we didn't drink but the second round, which was also bad, we paid for and couldn't tolerate to drink. At least the waiter was sympathetic. And the upside down cows are somewhat entertaining.

Came in randomly with husband because walked by and saw they had on ESPN, and my alma mater was playing. Sat at the bar. What an earful we got! The drama that ensued in our 2 hour stay was hilarious and ridiculous. Apparently the manager (older guy who didn't seem fun to work for) scheduled the female bartender to work until 5, but some swapping of shifts was done which did NOT make him a happy camper. He wouldn't let her leave until another pair of boobs showed up behind the bar, so she was ticked and started to curse under breath and slam glasses. A co-worker tried to talk her up about her "Mr. Big" and how he whisks her off to LA and Chicago all the time. Not sure what exactly is coming from that relationship, but I do know she's sure as hell is NOT shopping at Versace again. Had to call to ask THEM if her shoes were ready. Pfft. How dare they. No one seemed to care they were airing their dirty laundry in front of us. Service: The guy bartender waited on us but didn't seem too interested in doing so. Had to keep asking for drinks. The smoke alarm went off because something burnt in the kitchen which was rather comical. The staff seemed puzzled by it and didn't even make an announcement. They just shut it off. Food: we had calamari which was actually pretty good. Ask for a side of marinara though, that was delicious.

I would consider the food here a bit above average. The happy hour extends until 8PM (most other establishments end at 7). They do have some TV's if you want to catch a bite and a game, although I would not consider it a sports bar. On a recent visit the kitchen fouled up an order of wings. I want to compliment the manger on duty, Maude, who did a wonderful job of correcting the error.

I've been sitting at the bar for over an hour and the bartender seems like she is avoiding me. It is a girl with long brown hair don't know the name because she has not interacted with me after handing me my drink and a menu with no smile. I would absolutely never return. As for service at a table I am not sure if that is an upgrade and I could not tell you how the food is since I haven't had the chance to order since she is helping only people that look to have a lot of money. Very disappointed.

Unfortunately, all the NEGATIVE reviews here are TRUE!!! I came here alone after work, restaurant was very empty at 7 PM. Waiter came and tookk my order, drop off my drink and he never came back to take my order. I got up and told one of the waiter that I was ready to order. My waiter came back and took my order. When my order came, he forgot to put in my side order. I had to eat my main dish while waited for another 15 minutes for my side order to arrive. I WOULD NEVER COME BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT. Very shady and bad service restaurant. The restaurant has a bad smell too.

Food was mediocre for the price. We ordered the Ringer and it had a food flavor but was overcooked, potatoes taste like box potatoes. Jerk wings were undercooked and drenched in too much sauce. Salad had no dressing and we were charged for a side of it. Won't be returning.

Waste of time and money. Very dead spot, food was overpriced and portion size was tiny. So tiny that the 4 of us (2 men 2 women) were still hungry enough to walk down to American social to get more food directly afterwards. We won't go back.

My boyfriend brought me here on a date Monday night and we were quite entertained by the décor. The wood fire burning inside was a nice romantic touch and smelled so good and the bar was a beautiful set up. A 5 as far as ambiance and décor goes. Our server was very friendly and did a great job on refilling our drinks and checking on us. She recommended that I try the Burrata and Strawberry salad and my boyfriend ordered a steak-medium. The food came out in a relatively timely manner. The salad was soooo tiny and with the price I was expected quite a bit more. It was not even on a full sized plate I do believe there may have been more strawberries than pieces of burrata lettuce :( It was very good but unfortunately I left hungry after spending a good amount for pretty much what was about ten strawberries and cheese. My boyfriend's steak was not very evenly cooked and was pretty average. His fries though were nice steak fries, cooked perfectly and I have to say that was the best part of the meal (and I usually do not eat fries). All in all, the service was amazing (maybe a little more food/beverage knowledge training for the staff) Our server was so very sweet and attentive. I have worked in the service industry for ten years and I truly wish this business the very best. Of course in the beginning there will always be a few kinks and that is understandable. My biggest complaint is the lack of bang for the buck and the portion sizes. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

Let's start by saying 2 stars because decor was pretty cool. Service was slow... Drinks even slower (not 1 bar patron either) food was mediocre. We ordered the mimosas which was pre made & very, very weak the draft beer I was served was warm. You know when a drink has been sitting long when the glass starts to sweat. I inquired about the veggie burger, wanted to know if it was made in house or is it a frozen brand company. I was told it not made in house & wasn't sure about where & how it's produced. So I took the chance & ordered it anyway. The pretzel bun & avocado was the best thing about it. The burger was cold the cheese not melted & fries were on the verge of freezer burn. Over all I couldn't wait to get out if there. I will give this place another chance in the future in hopes it irons out the kinks. As for the staff... Nicely greeted but they should keep in house drama for another time. We heard all about it which of course doesn't help the first impression we got.

Great dinner outside. Service was excellent and well paced. Lamb burger was perfectly cooked for my liking (medium-well). So if you like it more rare, make sure you ask. The salmon was a hit also. The 2 vegitarians in our group enjoyed their black bean burgers. Try the local Ft. Lauderdale IPA on tap. Overall, a pleasant environment, quality staff, and great tasting food. It's not cheap, but that's Las Olas for you.

Made reservations for 12 at the grill republic for a bachelor party and ended up with great results! Appetizer and entrees were delicious. We ordered the deer and calamari as apps, both were amazing! As entrees we ordered a mixture of burgers and steaks, I must say DELICIOUS! Service was fun and accommodating! Definitely good for groups with reservation. Decor was fun and refreshing! Wish this restaurant the best! Will return soon!

This one is a hard one to review as we went for the first UYE Brunch of 2015 with a group of 20+. The service for a group that large at brunch time went seemly smooth with little complications and therefore is why I am giving them 2 stars. Our table was already set up inside in their dining room when they sat us and it didn't take terribly long to get our $10 brunch mimosas flowing! While looking over their brunch menu they have salads, burgers, and brunch items such as French toast, omelets, steak, and pancakes. I chose the Butcher's Hash with Poached Eggs and my husband chose the Good Morning Burger. The food is LESS than desirable and very bland. The Butcher's Hash orders came out last to the table which there were a total of three of us that ordered it. Mine when served was cold; not like a little cold but the whole dish was room temp. Also, when ordering I did not realize that it came with steak. It doesn't say steak comes in the hash but I guess I should of assumed? since we are after all in a beef centered restaurant. It was not a joy to try to eat this cold brunch dish especially cold eggs. On the other hand my husbands burger was cooked as ordered but the ingredients just weren't quality. The "pretzel" bun was not really a pretzel bun and not fresh, the cheddar cheese was goopy and blah. Their fries were actually not bad though, seasoned and hot! Others ordered the Republic Steak and Eggs and were pretty disappointed with their dishes such as portion size, tasteless black beans, and overall just dreary food. What they call a mimosas is laughable. It's more like orange juice with a splash of champagne. We all had more than our share of Vitamin C for the whole month. Even after asking for them to let up on the orange juice there just was no hope for that morning buzz. Overall, service was pretty good with our server and manager helping but towards the end of our visit you could tell our server was getting a bit aggravated and just didn't want to deal anymore. The food was below point for the majority of the table and those mimosas just can't stand a chance.

Brunch is always a good thing, so when I saw the first brunch of '15 UYE going to be held here, I knew I wasn't going to miss it ;) When I stepped in, I saw cows hanging upside down from the ceiling. No joke. I kept looking at the one in front of me to see if it actually was going to fall down while I was there. It didn't and I got pointed out that there was one above me. Good one, just great. I was still looking at the one in front of me instead of the one above me. I'm still trying to figure that one out..lol! You'll be glad to know that none of them fell down while we were there. Enough about the cows though. Let's move on to the brunch. The restaurant has a variety of choices from the menu. French toast? Yep. Feeling a burger? Yep. Even a steak? Yes. Of course, brunch is never complete without a mimosa. You have a choice of unlimited mimosas or bloody Mary's for ten bucks with a purchase of an entree. You can't beat that. I went for the banana chocolate chip pancakes and they were yummy for my tummy. The pancakes were huge and I was only able to eat half of them because I was so stuffed. The staff was attentive and we were able to seat together without any problem. The checks were broken up and the extra gratuity wasn't added for being a big group either. There wasn't any rush and all of us enjoyed each other's company while sipping on mimosas, eating great food, and still in holiday mode. Thanks Greshka for planning this and getting our brunch on!

Yesterday we went here for an early dinner. We sat inside as it is still very hot out. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with cows that were hanging upside down from the ceiling. Our server Greg took our drink orders my husband a beer and myself a rum punch. The menu had a great variety to chose from. My husband had the Billy the Kid burger which was a combination of beef and chorizo. The waiter suggested that it be prepared medium instead of rare due to the pork content. I had the shrimp salad. The shrimp were perfectly grilled and the salad was a generous portion. We both loved the ambiance as well as the friendliness of the wait staff. The restaurant itself was very big and airy so you didn't feel squeezed in. We will definitely return soon.

Eh, I definitely won't come back here. Service was extremely slow on the Saturday night we stopped in with group (there were 4 of us)--and the place was practically empty. We ordered burgers and drinks and it took over 45 minutes for the food to be ready. Seemed kind of strange since there were only two other tables being served. Once the food did arrive, it was decent, but, not to sound salty, but nothing special. Burgers range from $18-35. For that price, and with a 45 minute wait, we were all hoping for a little more.

Here's my take on Grill Republic--they gotta do something else to draw people in. In fact, my friend and I thought what it should be--they should make this a ROUND UP COUNTRY BAR. The motif is already there, country has a huge draw (Rehab in Las Vegas has moved to country if you can believe that), they could have live music, they got plenty of space for dancing, section in the back could be all the canned beer they could sell. American Social is sort of close and I could see them taking patrons from them. They could still sell burgers to drunk people late at night, still have it a restaurant in the evening till a certain point, and they can get people in the door. They did even play country songs while we were there. I met a friend here for lunch last week, they have BOGO lunches M-F (have to order a drink even if it's just an ice tea or coke), we got there around noon, and there was only one other table seated. Now when we left around 130, there were probably 10 tables sat so it seems to get busier later, but still needed way more people in there. My friend ordered the Lamb Burger it was phenomenal, I ordered the Bison Burger it was just OK. I definitely had food envy after I took a bite of his, then took a bite of mine, his was definitely the CLEAR winner. See the pix They do automatically include tip on the higher amount, but after all was said and done bill was about $15 and change (now remember we had bison and lamb not cheap meats). We both were pretty pleased with our lunches and I would go back again.

This place was dead when we went on a Saturday during brunch. To start off we were upset that we couldn't order lunch food at noon on a Saturday. They wouldn't let us because it was brunch but there were maybe 5 other tables of people in the entire place.... DEAD brunch.... And even being that dead our waiter did not have very good service. He took a long time to get our food out to us then didn't really check in after that. So we ordered from the brunch menu and all the food was doused in butter and oil. Even the eggs. My breakfast potatoes were hard, so overcooked. Overall I was very unimpressed with the place and would not go back. I would caution people from going there for good food.

The good: Atmosphere is interesting and the waiter was nice. The rest: we came in on a Saturday at noon and the only available options were brunch. I asked if they served lunch only to find out brunch was our only option. I would understand if the place was packed, but the place was maybe a tenth filled. The appetizer we ordered took quite a while. Our brunch orders (the all American and the butchers hash) were the definitions of GUT BOMBS. The food was soooo buttery and greasy that my fiancé and I both had upset stomachs. The big tell is that we both agreed the toast was the best part of the meal. We won't be returning.

Thanks to the lovely Greshka P. we swung by Grill Republic to check out brunch for the first Saturday of the new year! First off, I was really pleased with the large table they were able to assemble for our very large group. Once we took our seats the mimosas (or bloody marys for those who went that route) started flowing. At $10 for unlimited you really can't complain much, but I would have preferred my mimosa ratio to be a little bit more champagne and a little less orange juice.... in my words "I like my mimosa to be transparent". Greg and the manager did a great job of keeping us well organized, taking orders, keeping the glasses promptly refilled etc, and before I knew it our food was coming out. I must say I was slightly disappointed by my Steak and Eggs dish, and felt the steak was a bit on the small side, but all in all it was the tastiest thing on the plate. The potatoes were a bit cold, and I contribute this to the kitchen having some issues handling our 20+ plates. Thankfully I was able to try some of Sergio F's french toast and this was pretty good. Perhaps carbs are what one should be ordering for brunch here? After snapping a few pictures, that the manager was helpful enough to take, we talked to Greg about separating our checks and he was able to do so with ease. Overall, it was a great way to ring in the new year, all together and thoroughly enjoying the company. As Grill Republic is a new addition to Las Olas I hope they succeed, and I for one am a fan of the eclectic decor lol.

I planned a brunch for my friends and I, to celebrate the first weekend of the New Year. I was looking for a place that served bottomless mimosas, on a Saturday, so that everyone had time to relax on Sunday, before going back to work after the Holidays. Looking online I came across Grill Republic. I checked Yelp and reviews were mixed, still they had Saturday brunch, bottomless for $10, so I decided I would give them a chance. I called to make the reservation. I needed a table for 15 - 20 people, they accepted without any problems. They were very pleasant over the phone, same as when I called the day before to confirm reservation. Saturday morning, they had our table ready. Restaurant wasn't full so I thought "great! Our group will be served excellently since they're not too busy". It started that way. Servers and manager were prompt in taking our orders and serving the Mimosas. Now, since we're on the subject of the Mimosas... I know they're bottomless, and only $10, and although I appreciate them avoiding us all a "champagne headache" or hangover, I really like to drink a real Mimosa and not just orange juice with Brunch. I tasted the champagne on only one of the three I had. That was disappointing. I rather pay the $15 at other places and have the real thing. As for the food, I ordered the Butcher's Hash with Poached Eggs. When serving the food, the three servers (yes, it took 3 to serve 20 of us) could not get our orders right. They did not remember who ordered what, and kept (almost) yelling out the name of the plates. The Hash came out last. Not sure why but, there were 4 ordered at the table and each looked different. Same ingredients, but on some the spinach was completely cooked, on others not, on some the steaks was more cooked than the others... I know some weren't 100% happy with theirs but mine was delicious. I loved the hint of sweetness the corn gives to the dish, and my poached eggs (which I love) where cooked perfectly. One thing I must say is how disappointing was the size of the steak on the "Steak and Eggs" dish. It was about the size of the palm of my hand (and I don't have big hands). I mean, this place has cows everywhere for decoration... Back it up and serve STEAK! I asked one of the guys who ordered it if he liked it, he said the dish was good but he was definitely not full, and I'm sure went somewhere else, not too long after, to eat again. The servers and manager kept refilling our glasses with the (pretend) mimosas, cleared our plates when we were done quickly, and brought water immediately to those who ordered it all with a smile but, towards the end you could tell they were stressed out and ready for us to leave. In fact they even gave all the (separate) checks to one of my guests to distribute. I'm not happy with that. Yes, my dish was great, decor is fun, with cows on the ceilings, reservation process was smooth, and very grateful they accommodated all of us at one table but, there are inconsistencies on their plates and service that cause me to take stars away. So, please read the rating to be 2.75, not the whole 3 stars.

Today many of the Yelp BPB peeps all got together for the first UYE Brunch here at Grill Republic, a great first initiative by Greshka to get 2015 started. Also Kaya from the Miami Yelp community joined us. Great to meet Kaya who was the picture instigator for the brunch, which was great because she helped jumpstart many of the group shots that got done. Also, great thanks to the General Manager of Grill Republic for taking so many group shots with so many cameras....Sorry about the flashes, but thanks for he persistence for getting such great shots. This was my first time here at Grill Republic which used to be the old Voodka. This was a tough one to review as a restaurant as a whole because we were here at a primarily beef restaurant for brunch so I can only judge on what we got served for brunch and the accommodations at an early opening both as a new restaurant as well as an early start for today's brunch at 10:00 am. We easily were sat at a table for 25 people and the restaurant was basically empty at that time. Both the waiter and the General Manager immediately took our drink order. Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's for $10.00 for brunch here, which is so competitive with other brunches in the area which usually charge $15.00. Although the price was really great, I personally felt that there was not as much Champagne in these mimosas as I usually get, as I kept thinking if I ordered 7 of them, I would finally feel a little happier, never happened!!! They actually did pour a bottle of the Champagne in each of the pitchers I was told, so maybe it was me. At least I got my dose of Vitamin C for the week. After we got settled, again the waiter and General Manager took our food orders in a timely manner. What was really nice is that they told us not to worry about how to pay the check until the end of the meal, as they would settle that issue then when it was time to pay. There was no panic AT ALL, like I have seen at other events about separate checks, they just went on their way and took our order. My wife and I both ordered the Egg White Omelet which came with a side of roasted potatoes and Cantaloupe. There were a lot of choices to put in the omelet which included avocado, which I happen to love. Spinach, tomato, avocado and mushroom, done perfectly. My wife also enjoyed hers. Problem with the potatoes, which came out cold. Two of the other people ordered steak and eggs and the interesting thing is one got maybe a 3 inch skirt steak and the other got a normal full size skirt steak which one would normally expect for this dish. The dish came with black beans, potatoes and half avocado. We ordered a Beautiful French toast for some of the people at the table which looked very appetizing and included strawberries and whipped cream. See the picture to get the idea. The décor of Grlll Republic was definitely geared towards beef as you can see the big Cow as you walk in and one hanging upside down from the ceiling. This was Sergio's moment for sure. There was a large bar area and a display case for their beef items, deserts and cheeses. Casually comfortable. I really need to try this place for dinner to make any judgment on the real culinary cuisine this place represents. Oh,, separate checks, no problem, they made it easy, thanks!!! All I know is we all had a great time and were lucky to all be together on Jan. 3, 2015. Everyone was in the New Year mood, so it was in my opinion a great success. Thank you Greshka for planning this event. Perfectly planned around the Las Olas Art Fair as well, so we could just walk around afterwards.

I can get thrilled about the looks, general atmosphere and Las Olas location of Grill Republic, but unfortunately not the food. Overall, I found it pretty much average though the cucumber-tomato-mint salsa was a pleasant tasting touch on their lamb burgers and the rib eye wasn't bad, I've found the Burger and Suds lamb burgers as well as those of other such establishments superior in taste and as for steaks, I'd rather drop a couple of extra bucks at a real steak house such as Capital Grill. The interior décor of Grill Republic is certainly novel and somewhat breathtaking in an inviting way with upside down cattle hanging from the ceiling, the general spaciousness of the place and its Las Olas Street fronting open air patio. The menu seemed to me to be rather basic with culinary offerings that might at best be classified as unchallenging along with a most modest 7 different draft beers. As I was there during the Las Olas Arts Fair the place was rather crowded, service persons seemingly stressed out, confused and slow. However, that may not be the case on other occasions.

The restaurant was ok. I have been to better burger places. I always compare burger joints to Rok Burger, and my burger could not compete. The waiter was nice, but average. I ordered a pina colada, it was ok, 6.5/10. I also ordered a mango margarita, which I sent back. The joint just was not my style. They played country music the entire time, which I get. There is a huge cow or bull in the middle of the restaurant, so I get it. I would only go back if I was really craving a burger and all the other places close by serving were packed. Sorry.

Thanks to Greshka's effort organizing for the get-together, many of Yelpers showed up on the first UYE of 2015. Looking in the place from the street, the place seemed pretty big, and it felt bigger when we walked in. The first thing I noticed was the big cow right by the front door. It was very realistic looking and you immediate can relate "beef" must be one of the things they do best...... Other decorations in the dinning area seemed pretty cool. I did see cows everywhere, even in the ceiling. There were some goats but I only counted one pig...LOL! We sat down and started looking over their Saturday brunch menu. My wife had their unlimited Bloody Mary while many other people decided to go with their bottomless mimosas. I am not really into those drinks so I just had beers. My wife said the Bloody Mary was not bad but the other guests said they didn't taste any alcohol in their mimosas. My wife ordered the Croque Madam and she said it was so so. I had the Butchers Hash. It supposed to come in steak, potato with poached egg. My potato were undercooked, the poached egg was broken, and I barely got a few chunks of steak. I like my food warm, but my plate came barely room temperature. Even when we were disappointed with the food, the wait staff was pretty good. They kept going back and forth making sure we got our drinks and food, even the manager stepped in and help. Will we come back? I am not too sure. Since many people said they didn't like their food 100%, I may wait and see. Perhaps the new reviews will change my mind. However, a big thanks to Greshka again for planning for this event. I had a great time meeting with everybody.

I want to start with a huge shoutout to Greshka for planning this first brunch of the New Year, and getting me to wake up early and meet up with some fine folks from the 9-5-4 and a handful of us Miamians. The fact that the brunch was serendipitously arranged in parallel with the Las Olas Art Festival was fun. Catching up with the crew is almost enough to give this brunch 5 stars! The decor was fun..the upside down hanging cows (and big heifer at the entrance) took me back to the Miami Lakes cow field. Heck I got to take a picture with my fellow bovine fan Ashley! Foodwise, the Brioche french toast was delicious and the highlight of my meal. Sweet, pillowy and with fresh strawberries and a sweet glaze I wish I had ordered just that and enjoyed it all for myself. The portion was generous and intoxicatingly sweet. If only... As I mentioned before, I love cows..medium well and with some chimichurri. Given all the cows that made up the decor, I thought my portion of churrasco could have been larger. Though tasty and a juicy medium well, it was small - about the size of my fist (and I still haven't implemented the "going to the gym" New Year's resolution. I know I had burned the New Year's Eve libations out of my system, but the mimosas could have stood to have a little more bubbly. Maybe they could have grilled up those cows from the roof!

Catching early dinner with the family before heading to the Lion King performance we decided to stop at The Grill Republic in Las Olas Blvd. Love the outdoor seating, watching expensive cars driving by like Rolls Royce, Mclaren's, etc. It had a feeling of being on the Fort Lauderdale strip back in the late 80's. The restaurant offered $$ burgers, my husband ordered a Mahi Mahi sandwich and the piece of fish was so small that he had to say "where is the fish". The service was ok.The tapas and regular size appetizers were great. I didn't like the pretzel buns on my burger but that is my personal choice, as I don't like pretzels. To summarize my dining experience...I like the location, the drinks(white chocolate raspberry martini), appetizers were really good, burgers on the $$ pricey side.

This is the first place that I can think of that serves real bread. Not your pre frozen Demi loafs that Sysco supply's everyone. The outside is very nice. Good music at s decibel level where you can have a conversation without needing a bull horn. I ordered from the apps the Tenderloin Kabobs and the Grilled Shrimp Salad. The ladies next to me ordered the CalAmari and they said it was very good. The Tenderloin Kabobs were very good and so is the Grilled Shrimp Salad over Watercress. The staff is very attentive without being overbearing.i will be coming back as well as spread the good word.

So, Greshka P. created an UYE (Unofficial Yelp Event) to meet-up for Brunch at Grill Republic. Twenty-something of us Yelp Users showed-up. From Boca all the way down to Miami. Grill Republic is a fun place and can host large groups. You will quickly notice the upside down cows and sheep on the roof upon entering. That is, after being greeted by a life sized large cow at the entrance to the indoor dining room. We were there for Brunch. The Brunch Menu is simple with $10 unlimited Bloody Marys or Mimosas. The drinks were indeed being filled-up almost immediately but, not as strong with the alcohol content as I personally would like. I had the Croque Madam to eat which was light and good. For we being such a large group, I was surprised how quickly the entire ordering process was handled. Before we knew it, the food was already coming to the table. We weren't the only patrons there. They did their best considering we were such a large group. A little disorganized at times but, we eventually received our food. The question is: Will I be back? Absolutely I will. I kid you not, the last time I was at Las Olas was in 1992. It was a great getaway on a Saturday morning from Hialeah. This restaurant is definitely a place I would return to. Next time, however, I'm ordering a drink from the bar instead of the unlimited cocktails.

Not gonna get too into it, but this place needs to turnover into the next iteration for this address Too loud, food is a pathetic attempt, just a waste of time. I gave two stars because the service is actually phenomenal. Been here twice and they are excel. Just wish for their case they worked at a legit restaurant.

  • Julie R.

We walked by and were initially attracted by the cows and other farm animals that were hanging from the ceiling, since it's not exactly part of your typical restaurant decor, but we thought it was pretty cool. I didn't have a preference on what to eat and my brother wanted meat, so we said what the heck, let's give this new place a try (they opened last Monday). So we were seated by the hostess and we waited for a while (like 10-15 mins) and our waiter still hadn't come by, so we had to ask the hostess for drinks and she was kind enough to take the order and tell our waiter, Gregory what it was. When he brought us our drinks we said that we were ready to order and he was like ok, I'll be back. He then went to pick up a table that had left and to do something else before coming back to take our order. Really? A table that left is more important than people you currently have sitting there?! Then after he takes our order he doesn't come back for like 15 or 20 mins after, while my brother's gf had been wanting another drink. We get our food and start trying it and after my friend's first bite she finds a long hair. We immediately call our server and I put the light on my phone to make sure he sees it. He doesn't even apologize, says he will talk to the manager about it. Like 5 mins later he comes with another guy who I am assuming was the manager (because he didn't say who he was or anything) and he says sorry, but he doesn't know where that came from because he doesn't have anyone that works there with long hair. Mind you to go to the restroom you pass the side of the kitchen and we all saw females back there, so how does he say that there is no one working with hair longer than an inch? Anyway, he says that he will comp us a round of drinks and get a new plate of the skewers. Meanwhile we go ahead and eat from the other plates. I had ordered the baby lamb chops which were good, just a bit overcooked. The only thing that was made right was my brothers steak. So they finally bring back the supposedly new plate of skewers and they are charred, which makes us believe that they just put the same ones back on the grill and brought them back out. Unfortunately my friend had already lost her appetite at this point and just asked for a box to take it and asked for the bill. When the bill came they had comped us the round of drinks as promised, and also comped my meal (which was the priciest). And with those comps the bill was like $48, but without it it was like $80, which is way overpriced! Unfortunately because of the issues with the food and slow service I wouldn't recommend this place nor do we plan to come back, unless they have survived for like a year which means they should have fixed all the problems by then. Only giving them 2 stars and not 1 because they did comp some stuff and also because the steak (cooked perfectly) and lamb chops were good (although slightly overdone).

Sat at the bar for happy hour and we did not regret it!! The bartender was amazing and the mini burgers were so delicious. They had a mustard tasting sauce on them but there were great. We will definitely be returning for dinner.

Went there with my boyfriend for the first time and we loved it. We sat inside and the decorations were kool. There were farm animals on the ceiling! Lol The food was spectacular. My bf for the salmon budget that is made in house and he said that it melted in his mouth. I got the black bean burger on a Pretzel bun and it was amazing! Out waitress Maria was great, very helpful and accommodating. Overall we loved it and would recommend it.

Food was amazing. It was very very good. However, the staff here was absolutely amazing great attitude, great humor and excellent service. We came for brunch and I had the Eggs in Chili Con Carne....if you're a fan of eggs and steak or eggs with meat scrambled...try it. It was awesome. We will be coming back.

Not much too it. Good location, I had the steakhouse salad with the steak and it was really good. Didn't have to wait long (which is a pet peeve of mine). However I did go on a lazy Wednesday afternoon so maybe that's why.

Happened upon Grill Republic by happenstance as we didn't have a plan of where to eat, just some place on Las Olas. Got seated outside, which is always nice on a temperate night in Ft. Lauderdale. I liked the décor inside and out, but I would say that the chairs outside could be uncomfortable after a long period of sitting. The menu is pretty standard steak/burgers. I had the skirt steak with the chimichurri sauce. It was cooked medium rare, as I asked and was good. I thought the sauce was a bit bland though. The fries that were served with it were really good. Very hot, crispy and a huge order. Service was friendly. Prices were reasonable for South Florida. I understand the place just opened, so maybe they need some time to get things in a routine, but I enjoyed my visit. A good addition to Las Olas.

My boyfriend wanted to try this place out and we were both VERY disappointed. First I'll talk about the service, or lack there of. We got seated immediately by the hostess but it took about 15mns for someone to even come over to get our drink orders. We ended up having 3 different servers by the end of the meal. Our 1st server disappeared, the 2nd server (I think was a manager) could care less about the feedback we were trying to give. Why ask if you aren't willing to listen? 3rd server, Warren ended up being nice and actually listened. Was even apologetic. The food is overpriced for the size and quality. We got the rabbit and it was sooooooooo dry. I had to keep putting the ranch dressing that they served with it to help it go down. The small piece of skirt steak we got didn't come with any side, a la carte style. . So we had to get a side of roasted cauliflower that was not cooked correctly. It was browned a little on the outside and raw. And had a bland green sauce that fell to the bottom of the bowl. Finally we got the quinoa salad which was OK. I can probably keep going on but it makes me upset at the money we wasted. Nothing special... overall, I do not recommend nor would I go again. I wanted to walk out just from the HORRIBLE customer service but my boyfriend stopped me. The cheesy cows on the ceiling will bring people in out of curiosity but the vibe, food, and atmosphere just didn't work for me.

I am utterly disgusted by the horrific experience I endured this evening. My "waitress" was named Maria but her name might as well been unhelpful. I have a mayo allergy and specifically told her not to incorporate that on my bean burger. When the burger was brought out to me, after 45 mins, it was basically doused in the mayo. Maria never knew this though because she neglected to come back to the table to ask how everything came out. Also, we told Maria that we were in a rush and had to leave soon to be at another event. She was unaffected by this statement since we had to get up and get our own checks. My best advice to a new restaurant in a competitive town would be to train your staff better and not hire inconsiderate individuals.

I was suspicious when they closed down Voodka and then this place was up and running within a week... turns out its actually the SAME owners and management. They just put a new sign up, replaced all the old couches and put in some new "rustic" furniture - left the chandeliers though? Menu is now simple American fare, chicken tenders, burgers, etc. Not much else has changed from my first visit to Voodka over a year ago unfortunately. Service is still awful, food is mediocre with little consistency (we all ordered burgers cooked Medium and they ranged from medium rare to almost well done?). They need a lot more changes if they are ever going to make it... how about some employee training, restaurant manager, and a chef who knows what he's doing? Seems they hired a chef a while back and the reviews got considerably better, then they let him go and now its back to square one.

This place is pretty good. The prices are pretty fair the only thing I really regret about coming here and why I didn't give it 4 stars is because I ordered Gnocchi Alla Bolognese and It's honestly the worst I've ever tasted but the NY Strip Steak was excellent. We ordered Calamari, Wings and Baby Lamb Chops for appetizers. The Calamari was fantastic and the Lamb chops were the best I ever had! The wings were supposedly Jerk flavored but I really couldn't taste any of it. Our service was great and our server was very kind seeing as it was the 24th of December. If I'm ever driving by here and need a place to eat I will definitely stop by again and I'd recommend it to my friends. Good Experience! Just don't ever order the wings or the Gnocchi!

I ate here for lunch yesterday, mainly because it was one of the only restaurants open on Las Olas on Christmas Day. If you've read my other reviews, you'll see I had a negative experience at this restaurant's predecessor. I was cautiously optimistic about this restaurant because I heard decent reviews of this new joint - from friends and the newspaper. My lunch experience was a mixed bag. Myself and three friends got to the restaurant at about 1:30 p.m. on Christmas Day and told we could be seated right away inside or 15 minutes outside. We decided to wait for outside seating and were told by the hostess we would be called on our cell phone when a table was ready - after 5 minutes we moved to the bar to get drinks while we ate. We noticed that a lot of the staff seemed to be Russian, so we figured it must be the same ownership, but hopefully better service. After about 30 minutes at the bar, we checked with the hostess and she said her servers told her they weren't ready for new tables - even though there were plenty of empty ones outside. It appeared there were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant. We wait a few more minutes at the bar and decide to eat at one of the hightops in the bar area. The bar waitress came right over with menus and we place are order immediately. She warns us again that the kitchen is a little slow and that it could take 45-50 minutes for our food to come out- we were OK with that because we had nowhere else to be, and we appreciated the warning. We had nowhere else to be! We ordered chili as an appetizer which came out in about 15 minutes and it was a bit discombobulated as it took about 4 trips for the waitress to bring plates and forks for everybody at the table. It took about 10 minutes to devour the chili and pita and our entrees came out right when we finished eating. We were pleasantly surprised at how fast our food came out - I guess that's what happens when your expectations are lowered. Everybody enjoyed their entrees - a bean burger, 2 lamb burgers and a chicken burger. My only complaint was that it was not a chicken burger, as stated on the menu, but a grilled chicken breast. All in all, it was a pretty good experience and about one million times better than Voodka. Our food was good and our waitress was exceptional. I'm glad we decided to eat in the bar because we would still be waiting for that outside table. We never received a phone call that a table became available. Will I return to Grill Republic? Hard to say - I wouldn't write it off completely, but I am not running back.

I don't really get why this place isn't doing better than it is. I haven't tried a lot on their menu but have had a few different burgers and they're really good. Service is great, decor is fun and unique, location is great, drinks are good and prices seem reasonable. And yet there's never anybody in the place. I hope they pick up.

I was visiting friends in town and they took me here. Mostly bc it was busy everywhere else and the fl state game was on so we could watch and eat. The food- cheese plate was a waste of money. Nothing else was great either. The service was some of the worst I have ever received. This sever knew nothing and was completely lost when we asked a question. She guessed a few questions and low and behold food came she was wrong. We had to track her down for more drinks and water refills and it took 15 mins to get our drinks in the first place. Our apps beat the drinks. Also a table who was sat in front of the game was known by the staff therefore they stood there blocking the tv to chat nearly the whole meal. If the place was busy I might have understood but it was dead which knowing what I know now is not surprising.

Starting with the bread and seasoned fries, excellent so far. Wife is French and we love the Multi-cultural staff. Yuca and Brussel Sprouts were really good. I'm a steak guy and ordered the ribeye, it was perfectly prepared and very tender. Nice surprise!

Bee careful with your Credit Card charge. I went there last Friday with all my family, they charge me twice and then said one of the transactions was voided. Come to realize, that when i checked by bank statement they had charge me TWICE and both transactions were debited from my account. SO BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CARD ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR SERVER IS DESPERATE TO LEAVE AND MAKES THIS MISTAKES.

We have eaten here twice. Both times very good meals. Drinks could be a big bigger...... Attentive service. No issues. 100 times better than Voodka. No comparison. We have tried the chicken, carne asada, flat bread and another dish. All very good. Considering it is the Las Olas area, prices were ok. Cheap no.. but definitely not high for the quantity or the quality. This will be a regular for us and we live downtown. We have tried every place on the Las Olas strip and this ranks as one of the better spots.

Went here recently with a group of 12. Waiting at the bar for the rest of the guests to arrive, the bartender actually ignored us, and was at the other end of the bar chatting with the help. I ordered wine, and 10 minutes later he brought it to me at our table. (Did I mention there was no one in the place?) We ordered the calamari, and it was tough. Sausage and sweet potato appetizer was delicious. When the waiter was telling us the specials, he didn't tell us the prices. 4 of us ordered the special, which was sliced tenderloin with gorganzola , garlic mash and grilled asparagus. Every dish came out looking different. Some had 3 slices of meat, some had 6. Potatoes has too much garlic and no salt. Asparagus was under cooked. And the whole plate was luke warm. The worst part is when we got the bill, the special was $32.00! I would have ordered a regular steak for that price! Shame on me for not asking the price but I think the server needs to tell you how much the specials are. Other people ordered burgers, and they were raving about them. I live here, and there are so many great places to eat. Probably won't go back, or recommend it.

Well, buffets gross me out entirely, so American Social was a no go. We walked down the avenue toward the Nectar place we googled for unlimited brunch and happened upon this little gem. I was among three. Another ordered the same as mine - the croque Madame with bacon something and truffle something. I'm pretty sure you can't put a dish together with bacon and truffle and have me not order it. It was phenomenal and it's NOT the 8 mimosas speaking. The food was absolutely wonderful and the drinks were the perfect compliment. And it came at a price far cheaper than American Social's shitty over-juiced mimosas, and buffet line. A+ from me. PS some "local" broad (from Mineola NY who apparently likes to deem herself local) mocked the hell out of this place, in a private message on Yelp (who has such time?) telling me that locals would never come here and some Russian owns it and has no idea what he is doing. Well, I don't give a f*** about the ownership, my croque madam (sans e) was FAN-FRIGGIN'-TASTIC, and my waiter wast most generous with adding more Champs to our pre-made delicious mimosas, and I could not have been happier. So my review stands, only now I've added some much deserved mockery of her.

Had a great brunch, unlimited mimosas, capacino was nice and foamy, had croaq madam was different and tasty, the wait staff was very nice and on the ball. Will try again and would recommend for brunch.

Great decor. Horrible service and food. Won't eat there again. Restaurant concepts that work on Las olas need to be the perfect combination of good vibe and great food. This place has neither.

Amazing Brussel sprouts & mussels (get extra bread for the broth) the citrus dressing salad was The amount of ppl that walked by and looked @ the menu and didn't stop was baffling! It's a must try!!!

Not gonna get too into it, but this place needs to turnover into the next iteration for this address Too loud, food is a pathetic attempt, just a waste of time. I gave two stars because the service is actually phenomenal. Been here twice and they are excel. Just wish for their case they worked at a legit restaurant.

Sorry.

Great service, great atmosphere and decorations especially if you like cows! Live music on the weekend! And unlimited mimosas for only $10. It doesn't get better than that!

OMG...a must!!! Don't even think of passing this one by. My Mom suggested this place for brunch and I was hesitant but soooo glad we did. Where should I start... The fun decor, the staff (ask for Steve), the food exceptional. You'll be sorry if you don't try... Def be back

Came in kind of late and really hungry and had a great experience!! We sat at the bar and got excellent service. For a basic burger etc place it was delicious!! The salmon pasta was so good I didn't want to share!! The decorations are pretty entertaining too!! We'll be back!!
